Hassan Younas – Participant of SLI in 2014
“A romantic collaboration of scientific and technological ideology with legal framework”
While accomplishing my master’s degree from Pakistan, I was keenly searching for some opportunities to grasp the world and to widen my neurological approaches to start climbing my success ladder. I found Summer Law Institute through my searches. First time, I applied for SLI in 2012. I was rejected to be a potential candidate for the program. The curriculum outline, especially intellectual property rights, attracted me much that I applied again in 2013 while I was a PhD scholar in Shanghai Jiao Tong University - China, an ultimate aim. I was interviewed and did not get complete financial assistance, thus, I failed to join the program.
Maria del Mar Serrano Garcia – SLI participant in 2014
"I feel very fortunate to have met so many young, talented and lovely people."
My name is Mar Serrano, I am originally from Spain and last summer (July – August 2014) I had the immense chance to take part in the 9th Edition of the Summer Law Institute, which was held in Beijing University, a major Chinese academic institution. As a graduate in Law and Political Science, I immediately became interested in this stimulating program, which deals with environmental issues, intellectual property, as well as international relations between the European Union and China from a multidisciplinary perspective.

“… SLI has been one of the most useful experiences I have made in my whole life …”
Six months later, I can definitely say that the Summer Institute in China has been one of the most useful experiences I have made in my whole life: the program itself is really interesting, however beside that the real added value is represented by the context in which you find yourself.
On the one hand, China was something completely different from what I had experienced before; on the other hand, the variety of people I met had been really stimulating and enriching for me.
Federica Lorenzi – SLI participant in 2014
"... I had first-hand experience of Chinese society and market and the dynamism of the capital city. Beijing, an experience I'll never forget! ..."
My name is Federica, I'm a student at University of Verona and it's a privilege to share my experiences in China with you! I had just come back from a period of studies abroad thanks to the Erasmus program when I decided to leave again, to a further place, toward Beijing. Thus, unaware that experience would have held me back, last summer, I participated to the 9th edition of the Summer Law Institute.
